Here, the intrepid Prince Tamino is saved from a dragon by the mysterious Queen of the Night—then dispatched to rescue her daughter from Sarastro, the formidable high priest. Good and evil battle it out as two young people find their way to love and enlightenment in a musically luminous masterpiece that’s both funny and profound.
