City of Dallas

The City of Dallas gratefully acknowledges Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation for establishing the largest public/private funding partnership in the history of the Dallas Park and Recreation Department for the development of Klyde Warren Park.  Particular thanks to Jody Grant, Linda Owen and John Zogg for their leadership and vision in spearheading this innovative project on the Foundation’s behalf.  Without their efforts, this monumental and transformational gift to the City could not have been possible.

Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation

Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation deeply appreciates the individuals and organizations that unselfishly gave their time and resources to create Klyde Warren Park. We particularly wish to express our profound respect and gratitude to our Chairman Jody Grant for his enlightened leadership and passion to develop one of America’s great urban parks. We are extremely grateful to The Real Estate Council Foundation, Texas Capital Bank, and Sheila and Jody Grant for providing the seed money that made the project viable; Crescent Real Estate Equities and John Zogg for advancing the initial concept; Linda Owen for her tireless leadership as the Foundation’s first president and CEO; Sheila Grant for championing the capital campaign; Ed Fjordbak, Jeff Jackson, John Muse and Rob Walters for their long-standing service as members of the Executive Committee; Paul Dyer, Willis Winters and their colleagues at the Dallas Park and Recreation Department for their invaluable guidance and support; Jim Burnett and Tom Phifer for their exciting and innovative designs; Dan Biederman for sharing his unparalleled knowledge of park operations and programming; Keith Bjerke for his expertise and oversight as the Foundation’s Program Manager; John Reynolds for his valuable role as the City’s Project Manager; Tom Shelton for his skill in sourcing public funds and as the initial Project Engineer; Bill Hale for his critical leadership as TxDOT District Engineer; and Mark Banta for his role as President of Klyde Warren Park.

And finally, our sincere thanks to everyone whose devotion and generosity made the Park possible; their names are inscribed on these walls and in our hearts forever.
